1) New publication from Bill Meridian and high ratings of former book
Bill Meridian has published a new book titled Planetary Economics
Forecasting.
Planetary Economics Forecasting
Economic forecasting through the use of planetary cycles comes of age with the publication of
this book. Planetary cycles have been analyzed in two ways. First, quantitative cycles have been
computed based upon 220 years of monthly American industrial production data. This unique time
series became unavailable in 1988, and has been maintained by the author since that time.
The second analysis is qualitative. Graphs showing commercial crises,
recessions, and panics for each sidereal and synodic cycle are presented.
Each cycle has been back-tested from 1800. Some of the results are contrary to conventional assumptions.
The unique results reveal:
-The Jupiter through the signs cycle has been the most powerful cycles for forecasting changes
in production.
- The Jupiter-Saturn synodic cycle has been one of the least accurate
cycles for forecasting production.
- Jupiter-Saturn conjunctions and oppositions do tend to bring recession and crisis.
- Saturn 270 degrees from Neptune brings economic crises.
Tim Bost will review this book shortly.
It would probably be a really good idea to get hold of Bill's new book,
which is already available (since July 15, price ($39, $49 overseas) if you want to stay tuned
on financial astrology. This month we have the
opportunity of congratulating Bill on very fine ratings of one of his other publications: Bill
Meridian's Cycles Research has been ranked number 2 in the USA for stock market timing in the
last 12 months by Timers Digest (timersdigest.com).
Bill's successful book Planetary Stock Trading is now being reprinted for the third time and is
available for ordering ($55, $70 overseas).
2) Members Corner
We welcomed three new members to ISBA in July, which is good for a "vacation" month!
The three are Vincent Wong - associate - Maylasia; Lone Meyer - supporting - Denmark; and Franz
Michaelis - associate - Denmark. A warm welcome to all three of you!
Reminder: Maarit Laurento & I will be your international delegates to the Astrological Association
of Great Britain's annual conference. This year the conference will be outside the UK in Wales
at the university at Swansea on the Gower Peninsula. The dates are September 6th, 7th and 8th,
and it's not too late to register. It should be a wonderful conference!
In Oneness,
Barbara May
3) ISBA Tutoring To Begin
The ISBA tutoring service is to start its activities on September 1, 2002, where everyone has
returned from their holidays. All questions are welcome, please address them to the following
e-mail info@businessastrologers.com
The incoming questions will be distributed among some or all of the
following astrologers - depending on the character of the questions and the special areas of interest
of each astrologer.
We have discussed the possibility of, at a later stage, publishing all
questions and answers to the benefit of future business astrologers and
financial astrologers. Such a book would be published by ISBA and posers of questions would retain
their anonymity.
The following astrologers have agreed to be part of the ISBA Tutoring Board:
Barbara May - UK
Michael Munkasey - USA
Paula Falcao - Brazil
Karen Boesen - Denmark
4) Article from Robert Gover
Once again, Robert Gover has contributed an article in the Members' area on the ISBA web site.
It is titled: Pluto's Rocks. Thank you, Robert!
5) UAC Regulus
As most of us are aware, the UAC Congress took place in Florida last month. The following astrologers
were honored at the Congress. Congratulations to all of you, and thank you for your great efforts
in broadening the awareness of serious astrology.
The Regulus winners are:
Nick Campion for Professional Image
Ronnie Gale Dreyer for Community Service
Bob Zoller for Research
Demetra George for Theory & Understanding
Joanne Wickenburg for Education
Nicholas Campion will be lecturing at the 4th ISBA Congress in London this November. He will introduce
his research program. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at this special event.
6) President's Council Meeting - Mary Downing
Mary Downing was the ISBA representative at the President's Council at the same UAC Congress.
Mary spoke on the need for the astrological community in general to consider the practical application
of astrology to business, employment and market concerns as equal to psychological (or personal-development)
outlook. She also depicted the particular concerns of organizations with a worldwide multi-language
and cultural membership.
Thank you for representing ISBA, Mary!7) Congratulations to Heleen Hupkens - Holland
Our member in the Netherlands, Heelen Hupkens, has given birth to a lovely girl. Congratulations
from all of us!
8) Business Astrology book from Karen Boesen
Karen Boesen has now completed her book on business astrology based on the unique method of analysis
that she has developed in her many years as a business astrologer. First and foremost, the book
is targeted at potential business astrology clients to let them know what serious business astrology
is about. The book can moreover be used as a tool for business astrologers as if offers astrological
explanations in addition to the business language aimed at non-astrologers.
The book defines a business astrology natural horoscope with descriptions of signs, planets and
houses and describes the methods of analysis applied by Karen Boesen. It offers cases and examples
of interpretations, among other things. Georgia Stathis has kindly also contributed to this book
which is currently being evaluated by a Danish publisher. Translation of the book to English is
almost complete, and the book is being offered to a number of American and British publishers.
Best regards,
Karen and Hannah
