Spring is board election time in ISBA. This year we elect the two non-American members. All professional
members outside the USA, who have paid their membership dues are eligible. The election will take
place in April 2002.
You can register as a candidate for election until March 15th, 2002.2) Kaye Shinker
My goal is to increase our membership by teaching. Some of our members might be interested in
Level IV. What I plan for this class is send each class member the information for the 30 Dow
stocks to analyze them and buy a pretend portfolio at the beginning of the semester and see how
we do at the end.
www.astrocollege.org is where you will find my online classes. Check it out:
Day times: 1:30-3:00 Eastern
Night times: 8:30-10:00 Eastern
Financial Astrology Il: Monday 21Jan02
Financial Astrology Ill: Tuesday 22Jan02
Financial Astrology I: Wednesday 23Jan02
Financial Astrology IV: Thursday 24Jan02
I use both the incorporation and initial public offering dates to analyze an equity. I have used
Mike Munkasey´s lists of this information for the past 5 years. My experience is that they
are consistently accurate. His new updated disk version is bursting with stocks. I usually print
the disk and was forced to buy a new 2" ring binder to fit in all the pages.
KAYE SHINKER, NCGR C. Ast.
Instructor in Financial Astrology
www.astrocollege.org3) Legal Director - Russia
Astrology is begoming a subject that many legislators worldwide for some reason feel they have
to act against. Especially in the case of business astrology and financail astrology which involve
third parties. Our member Karine Dilanyan, Russia, feels the need for a legal director in her
country ? someone who can address the problems arising due to this evolvement. Karine has offered
to take on the post herself, and she will keep us informed of the situation in Russia. Our Russian
members are asked to contact Karine when they come across positive or negative mention of astrology,
or planned legislation in their home country. This applies especially to business astrology and
financial astrology.
Karine Dilanyan can be contacted at the following email address: astrology@mtu-net.ru4) Members

MEMBER'S CORNER
We now have the holiday season behind us and have welcomed in another New Year. In looking back
over 2001, I'm happy to report we added more members last year than any year before it! Word seems
to be getting out we're here and who we are and what we do. We had two months in a row last spring
when we added ten or more new members each time period. I like welcoming new members and exchanging
a little information about each other. We continue to attract good astrologers who are really
friendly and have great senses of humor!
In December we added a new member who has done exactly what I just did only in reverse. New associate
member Amanda Williams moved to the US several months ago after living in the UK her whole life.
We've had some lively exchanges about living abroad and in each other's country of birth. New
supporting member Mark Makinney is an American now living in the UK who was born in the same California
beach town my grandparents founded in the 1890's. Small world! Please join us in welcoming these
four new ISBA
members:
Barb Hindley - Canada - supporting
Mark Makinney - UK - supporting
Kiran Seep Singh Oberoi - India - associate
Amanda Williams - USA - associate
In the next few weeks I'll be going through our membership carefully and besides sending the routine
monthly dues notices, I'll also be contacting those members who have neglected to pay their dues.
I can't stress strongly enough how important it is to pay your dues when you receive your email
notice. If there is a problem, please let me know right away. We can work something out. I promise!
I'm looking forward to seeing you at our London congress later on this year. it'll be special,
so start making your plans now to join us!
In Oneness,
barbara may
5) Science and Astrology
Maarit Laurento, Finland, astro.bar@sci.fi , gave two lectures on science and astrology at our
congress in London, 2001. These are now available on the web site www.businessastrologers.com
, as a service to members who were unable to participate in the congress.6) New books
2001 was a very good year for new publications about business and financial astrology ? three
new ones on the market.
New astrology students always experience problems finding beginners literature on these subjects
? it is even difficult to find books that address the more advanced levels.
Therefore it was particularly exciting to see the books from Robert Gover, Georgia Stathis and
Paul Nipperess.
Robert's and Paul's books are on our web site: www.businessastrologers.com. Georgia's book can
be purchased on the following e-mail: venus2@ix.netcom.com
And the positive trend continues. We know of three more books with planned publication in 2002.
You are all aware of our ISBA-book written by 10 ISBA members. Currently it is with our agent
in NYC and will hopefully start the publication process before long.
Bill Meridian is currently completing: Planetary Economic Forecasting this Summer.
A third book is underway: Management in Astrological Perspective. This book addresses business
professionals, but may also be of interest to astrologers wanting to gain insight in business
astrology. The author is Karen Boesen. The book contains a chapter on financial astrology, also
targeted at business professionals. This chapter is written by Georgia Stathis. This book will
be completed and translated to English by the Summer of 2002. It will be published in Danish in
Denmark as well as in Norway.
7) Robert Gover
A last Thank you to Robert Gover, who has posted Chapter 9 of his book "Time and Money"
on our web site. Robert ? we can't thank you enough for this gesture.
8) Tim Bost
Tim Bost is now back in action, and you will be able to read his weekly newsletter on stocks on
our web site.
Welcome back Tim, it's great to have you with us again. We've all missed you.
Best regards
Karen & Hannah
