1) Members Corner
We have welcomed 4 new members in December 2002. They are:
Clair Carpenter - Scotland - Claire is our first member from Scotland Knut Arvid Johnsen - Norway
Robert Magill - UK Thomas Hines - USA
You are all very welcome. We hope that you will find your membership a fruitful supplement to
your professional development.
2) Board Election
As we stated late in 2002 we are holding an election for the non-European part of our board in
February/March 2003. All professional members outside of Europe with paid dues are eligible and
can register their candidacy.
We hope to welcome new board members, so if you are eager to work for business and financial astrology
worldwide - now is your chance.
3) ISBA Publishing
In December ISBA initiated our own publishing agency. Those of you who have studied the ISBA chart
will not be surprised. Actually we didn't intend to start publishing until a few years from now,
but the circumstances more or less forced our hand.
As you may know 11 business astrologers and financial astrologers from ISBA have joined forces
to write a book. It was to be published at the year end and I had made an agreement with a published
in November. In ISBA we have a lot of challenging aspects to transit Pluto and the published informed
us that due to their financial troubles they we no longer able to print and publish our book.
The agency had another two business astrology books which were scheduled for publishing in the
first quarter of 2003.
I ( Karen ) have now sponsored the publications with app. USD 13.000. One book is already published.
The ISBA book is being published as an e-book, and within a week it can be purchased through the
web site: www.businessastrologers.com . The last book: Management in Astrological Perspective,
will be published in February.
Of course we could have sent these books to other publishers but since the books, especially the
ISBA book has been due for a long time, we have chosen this solution to move on. Contact to publishers
is time-consuming and takes several months.
In the Spring we will contact other web sites concerned with astrological literature. We will
also try to distribute the books through Amazon.com etc.
If any of you have contacts in your home countries which you feel are relevant for negotiating
the publication of our books, please let us know.
Info@businessastrologers.com - thanks in advance!
4) Pat Foreman
Our member, Pat Foreman, has a very generous offer for ISBA members: Her book Computers and Astrology
is now available at a 50% discount to ISBA members with paid dues. Please check out description
and cover on her web site www.ComputersAndAstrology.com.
Thank you Pat!
5) Mentor - new members
At the congress in London, several young people participated. Furthermore we have a growing number
of members from the younger generations. It is important that all students requiring help to solve
problems of various character are aware of our mentor program which has been described in several
newsletters during 2002. You can read more on the web site : www.businessastrologers.com in the
members area members area.
6) ISBA congress 2002 and 2003
We have now received feedback form participants on the London November ISBA Congress - feedback
on the lecturers, subjects and contents, experience as lecturer, ability to communicate knowledge
and similar questions of professional and pedagogical character.
The general feeling is that there is a lack of pure business astrological lectures, as it was
felt that however good the lectures were they wee dominated by financial astrology.
As a consequence in the London Congress November 2003, we will divide the lectures accordingly:
4 lectures - financial/economic astrology
4 lectures - business astrology - management strategy, human resources, case stories, recruitment
and development of employees, team building etc. 1 lecture - business and financial astrology
2 lectures - mundane astrology related to the development in business life and conditions. In
this way we hope to meet the needs of as many participants as possible - although some subjects
will always find more favour with some people that with others.
7) Former newsletters
Some of our members were unable to receive the Christmas newsletter because it was too big. Please
note that former newsletters can be viewed in our members area.
